SANCTUARY
Here at the sanctuary, we currently care for more than 100 rescued animals, from sheep and alpacas to birds and cows. Our residents have been rescued from a range of different backgrounds - some were experiencing abandonment and neglect, while others were facing slaughter or mistreatment. We are committed to their well-being, health, and happiness for the entirety of their natural lives, and it’s a joy to watch them be so carefree after enduring so much at the hands of humans. It’s important to us to educate new (human) friends about the effects of animal agriculture so they can make decisions that are best for their health, the animals, and our planet.
Please note that while we are not open to the public, we always have an informal tour at the end of our open volunteer days.

At HCF+S, we offer more than just shelter—we offer a second chance. Our sanctuary is home to cows, sheep, alpacas, chickens, dogs, and more, each with their own unique personalities and needs. Every animal who comes to us is met with open arms, gentle hands, and a commitment to ensuring they feel safe, valued, and cherished.
Compassionate Care for Rescued Animals
Every resident at the sanctuary receives the best possible care. From veterinary attention to nutritious food, warm bedding, and spacious pastures, we work tirelessly to provide the love and dignity they deserve. But beyond their physical needs, we also nurture their emotional well-being. Watching a formerly frightened animal learn to trust again is the greatest reward of what we do.
Why We Do This Work
Too often, farmed animals are overlooked, seen as commodities rather than individuals. We believe every life is precious, and we’re here to rewrite their stories. By offering sanctuary and advocating for their rights while educating humans, we are building a world where their voices are heard, and their lives are respected.
MEET OUR RESIDENTS & BECOME THEIR HERO
Interesting in sponsoring a particular animal on a monthly basis? We offer both half (for large animals) and full monthly sponsorships to help offset costs like food, bedding, vet care, infrastructure, medicine, and supplements. Sponsors receive quarterly email/mail updates about their sponsee with photos, as well as other surprise perks. If there is a particular animal who you know you’d like to sponsor but don’t see on our page, please let us know so we can add them!
